Sleep Positions to Avoid During Pregnancy!
- Sleeping on back during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy is avoided because it puts pressure on the uterus, making it harder for the heart to pump blood to the mother and the fetus. It can also cause lower back pain and increase the chance of snoring or breathing problems during sleep. Some pregnant people may feel uncomfortable or dizzy while on their backs.
- Sleeping on the right side should be avoided because it can put pressure on the liver. However, it's safe to sleep on the right side for short periods.
- During the later stages of pregnancy, if individuals wake up on their backs, they should switch to sleeping on their sides.
