Can Norfen TZ increase the risk of tendon rupture?
Yes, Norfen TZ is known to increase the risk of tendon rupture commonly in the achilles tendon. Tendon problems can happen in people of all ages who take Norfen TZ. Inform your health care provider if you hear or feel a snap or pop, have severe pain, rapid or immediate bruising after an accident, and are unable to use the affected arm or leg. This may indicate that you have a tendon rupture.
Are there any specific contraindications associated with the use of Norfen TZ?
The use of Norfen TZ is considered to be harmful for patients with known allergy to norfloxacin or tinidazole or any other excipient present in the medicine. It should preferably be avoided in patients with a history of tendinitis (inflammation of the tendons) or tendon rupture caused because of the use of ciprofloxacin or any other medicine which belongs to the quinolone group of antimicrobial agents. It is also avoided in patients with some neurological disorders.
Can I drink alcohol while taking Norfen TZ?
No, avoid drinking alcohol while taking Norfen TZ and for at least 3 days after the dosage is completed. Drinking alcohol while taking this medicine may cause an unpleasant reaction (Disulfuram like reaction) with symptoms such as stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, headache, flushing or redness of the face.
