Introduction to Telekast 5mg Chewable Tablet 10s

Telekast 5mg Chewable Tablet 10s is used to prevent wheezing, breathing difficulties, chest tightness, and coughing triggered by asthma in adults and children aged 12 months and older. It is also employed to prevent exercise-induced bronchospasm in adults and children aged 6 years and older.

 Additionally, Montelukast is used to manage the symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis in adults and children aged 2 years and older, as well as perennial allergic rhinitis in adults and children aged 6 months and older. Montelukast, classified as a leukotriene receptor antagonist (LTRA), functions by inhibiting substances in the body that induce asthma and allergic rhinitis symptoms. It should be reserved for individuals who cannot be treated with other medications for allergic rhinitis.
 

It is generally safe medicine with few common side effects include nausea, vomiting, headache, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.  If these bother you or appear serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing them. Generally, you should avoid alcohol while taking this medicine.

Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you have ever had severe liver problems. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. You must inform your doctor about pregnancy or breastfeeding.
