What is Gemidro Tablet? What is it used for?
Gemidro Tablet belongs to a class of medicines called bisphosphonates that prevents abnormal breakdown of the bones. Gemidro Tablet is used to prevent and treat osteoporosis and fractures in people with metastatic cancer (a cancer which spreads to newer areas of the body). It may also be used to treat hypercalcemia (elevated blood calcium levels).
What if I forget to take a dose of Gemidro Tablet?
If you forget a dose of Gemidro Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next scheduled dose in the prescribed time. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one as this may increase the chances of developing side effects.
How does Gemidro Tablet work?
Gemidro Tablet works by increasing the density of the bones which helps prevent osteoporosis. Along with that, it helps to treat high calcium levels in the blood caused due to secondary bone cancer. It is also helpful in treating metastasis of bone which is caused due to breast cancer.
Why can you not lie down after taking Gemidro Tablet?
One should not lie down after taking Gemidro Tablet as there is a possibility that the medication might come back up into the esophagus (food pipe) and even damage the esophagus. Staying upright will help the medicine to settle down quickly in your stomach and prevent side effects like heartburn and pain.
How long should I take Rokfos?
Rokfos should be taken in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. The medicine takes around 6 month to show its maximum benefits on bones. However, in some cases, the doctor may suggest Rokfos for a longer duration. The exact duration will depend on the condition you are being treated for.
How should I use Rockbon C?
Follow the directions given by your prescriber and do ask him in case of any doubts. Usually, it is to be given in single nostril once daily. To start with we take 1 spray in left nostril on day 1, followed by right nostril on the second day. Continue to take the medicine inside the nose by switching nostrils every alternate day. Each bottle is set to deliver 30 doses. Do not use the bottle after 30 days.
