Phentoin may reduce the effectiveness of Delavirdine on HIV and the virus may also become resistant to Delavirdine. Phentoin does affect birth control. Phentoin can decrease the effect of oral contraceptives (birth control pills) which can make the contraceptive (birth control) effect unreliable.
