You can take Laxatin Suspension with or without food It is important to follow your doctors instructions on how to take this medicine Take it regularly to achieve the maximum benefit and try to take it at the same times each day Your dosage may be adjusted depending on the effectiveness of the medicine Do not exceed the recommended dosage and if you miss a dose do not take an extra one to make up for it It may take at least 48 hours for this medicine to work If you are still experiencing constipation after 3 days consult your doctor The most common side effects of Laxatin Suspension are mild nausea and vomiting which usually subside after a few days In rare cases serious side effects such as severe diarrhea and electrolyte imbalance may occur If you notice any of these serious side effects seek medical attention immediately Before taking this medicine inform your doctor if you have diabetes or if you are lactose intolerant and unable to digest milk sugar If you use this medicine for an extended period of time your doctor may recommend occasional blood tests to monitor mineral levels such as potassium and sodium Avoid taking other laxative medicines while using Laxatin Suspension and consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding

What if I take more than the recommended dose of Bowell?

Taking more than the recommended dose of Bowell may cause abdominal pain, electrolyte imbalance and diarrhea, which may last for a couple of days.

Who should not be given Bowell?

Bowell should not be given to patients who are allergic to it or are intolerant to lactose (cannot process lactose). It should also be avoided in patients having galactosemia, a rare health problem where the body cannot process galactose.

Is it okay to take Bowell every day?

You should take Bowell for as long as advised by your doctor. You may also take it for as long as constipation lasts, which may be up to a week. For hepatic encephalopathy, the treatment may be longer, even several months.

What are the side effects of taking Bowell?

Bowell very commonly causes diarrhea, flatulence, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. Diarrhea and abdominal pain occur due to a high dose. In such cases, the dose should be reduced. Flatulence may occur during the first few days of treatment and may disappear after sometime. This medicine may also cause electrolyte imbalance. However, this is an uncommon side effect.

Can I take other laxatives along with Bowell?
