What is Heptral?
Heptral is a natural substance found in cells, tissue, and body fluids. It is produced from methionine, an amino acid containing sulfur, and adenosine triphosphate (ATP). The nutritional supplement is harvested from yeast (fungus) cell cultures.

What is Heptral used for?
Heptral has been studied extensively for depression, osteoarthritis, and depression. But, there is no conclusive evidence that it is helpful in these conditions.

Who should not use Heptral?
Patients with bipolar disorder (an illness characterized by mood swings, from depression to mania) should not be given Heptral for depression as it can worsen symptoms of mania. Also, consult your doctor if you are pregnant or nursing mother, have Parkinson’s disease or if you are HIV-positive.

Is Heptral safe to use for long term?
Information on long term safety of Heptral is limited. There is one study in which patients took it for 2 years and no serious side effects were reported.

Who should not use Maxeed?
